Page 3 of 3 In times past, napkin holder rings were a family heirloom that was passed on to later generations. Often these had the family seal on them. If you are not sure what your family seal might be, then again, rings can fit the occasion. I once saw napkin rings in the shape of a large red heart that were very pretty for an anniversary dinner. Silver ring style napkin holders never go out of fashion. There is something very elegant in coming to a dinner table where even the napkins are dressed up. A silver napkin holder could be bought to complement your flatware or even your dishes. However, for more style, choose something that more reflects the dinner itself. Serving a special fish course? How about napkin rings with an old sailing ship decoration?
A napkin holder, upon which you rest your napkin, is also very popular for informal, but not casual dinning. Here again something rustic and handicraft looking is what you should be shooting for in this style. And remember this. The next time you travel, a napkin holder makes a great souvenir and for gifts to bring home. |
